Imagine you’re sitting on your porch enjoying a relaxing nap and all of the sudden an annoying fly keeps buzzing around your head. You take a couple of swings at it and it goes away, only to return as soon as you get comfortable.

You know what I‘m saying?

That’s the feeling I got watching the World Cup on ESPN.

I had a hard time concentrating on the game and after a few minutes the joy of watching the event was blown right out of me.

I love the World Cup, it’s arguably one of the greatest events in sports, but I can’t imagine listening to that buzzing and annoying sound of those idiotic horns for the next 30 days.

It never stops!

My God, don’t those folks take a break?

How can those fans watch the game with a plastic tube stuck down their throats?

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Please tell me, I want to make sure I’m not just an old man who is hearing things.

FIFA needs to take the air right out of those horns and fans should get back to a tradition that’s not so annoying—singing!

If FIFA does nothing about it, then it is up to ABC and ESPN to find a way to lower the volume on those plastic blowing tubes.

They’re no Miles Davis, that’s for sure!

I love you ESPN, I love you ABC, but get those damn horns off the air!
